| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
What kind of payment do you take? I prefer to use PayPal. Even if you're not familiar with it, it's the easiest and safest way to buy things online. I will send you an invoice and PayPal will tell you how to do the rest. Please include your address and phone number, which will be used for the airline documents, health guarantee/pet contract, and vet's health certificate. Do you accept deposits? Yes, I do accept and encourage deposits. Deposits are $250 and this ensures your puppy will not be sold to anyone else. However once you have made a deposit, it will not be refunded unless there are extenuating circumstances. Then it's up to my discretion. In other words-if you back out, sorry! The deposit will however be refunded if anything should happen to the puppy while in my care. Do You Ship? Yes, I do ship within the continental US only. Shipping to Canada may be considered on an individual basis. I use a pet transport service. They arrange the for the best flight and transport it to the airport, keeping the pets health and comfort in mind in all times. The cost of shipping is $250. Is it safe to ship and whats involved? PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION! Yes! The shipping of puppies is considered "priority" with special handling and regulations for pets. That means the USDA monitors the transportation of pets with numerous guidelines and requirements in order to ensure puppy’s safety, health, and well-being. We provide soft and absorbent bedding inside the crate to make your pet’s journey more comfortable. Puppies are transported in the same compartments as baggage, mail and other cargo. These compartments are pressurized and maintain a temperature range from 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit. I use American Airlines, their personal is specifically trained in the handling and care of live animals. I take care of all the arrangements, all you have to do is pick your new puppy up at the airport! A complete set of instructions and tips to follow will be sent to you along with the flight information. Airlines only book 3 days in advance, so while it may be inconvenient for you, please arrange to take the day off from work, or arrange to have someone pick up for you. At this time we are only shipping on Fridays. I will need your address, phone, choice of airport, and the name of who will be picking up in order to make the reservation. Photo id will be required. When Will The Pups Be Ready For Their New Home? Normally it is when they are 7 -8 weeks old (puppies that are shipped MUST be at least 8 weeks old, that is the rule of the airlines). If a pup is going to get sick, it will normally be within a week to 10 days after they are weaned, because they are no longer covered by their mother's immunity. I begin weaning my puppies at 5 weeks because of this. I certainly do not want you to get an unhealthy pup therefore the extra time helps to insure that you don't. Do males or females make better pets? This is a hard one! I feel and most other experienced breeders will agree, that both sexes are excellent pets. Some say that males are a bit more loving and will adore their families and make great house pets. Since I have both, I can't say that is 100% true, I think it differs with each individual animal. Females are usually smaller than males. Intact (not spayed) females will come into season approximately every six months and must be completely confined for three weeks during that time. Intact (not neutered) males tend to wander, especially if there are females in the neighborhood who are in season. If you spay or neuter your pet, these things will not be a factor. Neutering will also prevent some health problems that can develop later in your dog's life. What's included? The puppy will be given their first and second puppy shots, and be checked by my vet prior to leaving me. It is necessary to be extremely prudent in protecting a puppy until the full series of puppy shots have been given. Normally there are 3 to 4 shots given every 2-3 weeks in hopes of catching it's immunity system when it is receptive. The shots protect against several often fatal puppy diseases. Until a pup has had it's full set of shots, my advice is to keep the puppy home and ask all visitors to wash their hands prior to handling the pup. Friends and neighbors can bring a virus into your home on their hands or shoes. Do not allow it on ground which could be contaminated, this includes on the way home from getting the puppy - no potty breaks on unsure ground!! Also beware when you are in the vet's office. The vet's office has seen many sick dogs and if your puppy is not fully vaccinated it is wise to keep him inside a crate during the time spent in the office. Do not allow strangers at the vet's office to pet your puppy as they may unknowingly be carrying a virus and do not allow him to touch any unclean surfaces.
